tundra + clouds (equals) happiness

i took a little stroll behind our house.
the tundra continues for miles and miles.
it might look quite plain, but i think it is gorgeous.
much better then seeing snow.

we will move into the new house tomorrow.
+sigh.
i will miss this house (i know i have said that before).
but it's so very true.
right now we live on the very outskirts of bethel.
in a neighborhood-ish place called
tundra ridge.

summer at last

i am happy to say that bethel no longer has a need for this
watch for ice sign.
today was 70* and gorgeous.
now if we could just fast forward tomorrow
and get this 3 day weekend started.

random find

my goodness.
look what we found.
we were out exploring the tundra and randomly came accross these.
you must understand that there are no roads anywhere by this find.
no roads at all.
just lots of water and marsh.
we are convinced it was the aliens. haha, just kidding.
no really tho we can't figure it out.

blasted church talks

don't mind the outfit.
our trip to the river was following a much needed sunday nap.
hence the christmas pj pants.

earlier today i was so happy.
work was fun.
cory made dinner.
and
it was over 60 degrees.
weather like this almost makes the cold winter worth it.
...almost.

but then i came home and remembered we are giving talks on sunday.
- - - my happiness ubruptly came to a stop.

our branch only has 50 people so we give talks ever three months.
(like clock work)

i came home to my stairs all birthday-ed out.

i am twenty*two 2day!

yesterday, at work. the party planning committee. YES. we have one!

asked me what i should bring to the pot luck

*kinda smiling i said, "what is the potluck for."

knowing they would say, 'for you birthday of course.'

instead they said.

"shhhh, WILL is right behind you, we don't want him to know"

then i got confused.

"wait. what about WILL" i asked.

they replied, "it his birthday on sunday -

- - he doesn't know we are having a potluck for him."

I BURST OUT LAUGHING.

- they have NO idea it is my birthday, not sunday but TODAY!

i am kinda glad.

this party planning committee is almost as bad as on "the office"

cake, musical candles, presents. the works.

i think all that attention would be embarrassing.

will can have the attention. i will have the food!

the river broke up yesterday.
finally.
the fisherman are getting antsy.
me and girlie (my dorm girl) checked it out after BABS graduation.
i posted about the graduation here. (warning: lots of pictures)

i am cheap.

i have become one cheap girl.
+ i obsess about saving money.
i LOvE these shoes
AND want some.
they aren't too expensive, about $40 on toms.com
i can't bring myself to buy them full price.
instead i stalk ebay.
.....$20 and under please.

just so EVERYONE knows. i have the greatest mother there is!

my mom is simply amazing. she is always the life of the party, cracking jokes and making people laugh. she doesn't get embarrassed easily, which makes for some fun times together. she is a great listener and always has the best advice, always! she is extremely talentened in everything she does from art to being a stay at home mom. i look up to her in everyway shape and form. my kids will be lucky if i am half the mom she has been to me. being in alaska has been hard, but even in the coldest times i know she is just a phone call away.
